Union Representation??? What is it and when can I have it??  Well, let's see what the CONTRACT says:

ARTICLE 5 - UNION REPRESENTATION
1 At any meeting between a representative of the Company and an employee in which discipline (including warnings which are to be recorded in the personnel file, suspension, demotion or discharge for cause) is to be announced, a Union representative may be present if the employee so requests.

2 At any investigatory interview between a representative of the Company and an employee, wherein the employee reasonably believes that the information obtained may be used as the basis for disciplinary action against the interviewed employee, a Union representative may be present if the employee so requests.

See, that's not so hard, REQUEST UNION REPRESENTATION ! ! !

Know Your Rights
NLRB vs.Weingarten, Inc. 420 U.S. 251

You are entitled by law to union representation. Don't be misled into thinking you won't need it!  If called into a meeting with management, read the following to them before the meeting starts:
"If this discussion could in any way lead to me being disciplined or terminated, or affect my personal working conditions, I respectfully request that my union representative, officer, or steward be present at this meeting. Without representation present, I choose not to participate in this discussion."

  • You do not have to write or sign any statement for the Company.  If the Company requests you sign a document, put something like "I don't understand" or "I don't agree" or something similar to prevent the company from sneaking unsigned documents in your file at a later time.

  • You must request Union Representation, the Company doesn't have to offer it.

  • When asked a question by the Company, if you don't recall, say you don't recall.  (Don't try to fill in the gaps or guess).

  • You have the right to information regarding the subject of the meeting before you participate.

  • You have the right to consult with your Union Representative before and/or during the meeting.
